Cute Clown Chocolate Orange Pattern

DK YARN
3.5mm knitting needles

Using Yellow yarn ~
Cast on 43sts
1st Row:  S1, *k1, p1, repeat from * to the last 2sts, k2

2nd Row:  S1, *p1, k1, repeat from * to end

Repeat last 2 rows three times more

Cut off the Yellow yarn

Add in White yarn ~

Work 14 rows in stocking stitch (1row knit, 1 row purl) in White 

Cut off the White yarn

Add in Red yarn ~

Knit 2 rows

Shape the top ~
Row 23:     *K5, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1            (37sts)
Row 24:     Purl across row
Row 25:     Knit across row
Row 26:     Purl across row

Row 27:     *K4, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1            (31sts)
Row 28:     Purl across row
Row 29:     Knit across row
Row 30:     Purl across row

Row 31:     *K3, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1            (25sts)
Row 32:     Purl across row
Row 33:     Knit across row
Row 34:     Purl across row

Row 35:     *K2, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1            (19sts)
Row 36:     Purl across row
Row 37:     Knit across row
Row 38:     Purl across row

Row 39:     *K1, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1            (13sts)
Row 40:     Purl across row
Row 41:     Knit across row
Row 42:     Purl across row

Row 43:     Knit across row
Row 44:     Purl across row
Row 45:     Knit across row
Row 46:     Purl across row

Row 47:     *K2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                 (7sts)
Row 48:     Purl across row
Row 49:     Knit across row
Row 50:     Purl across row

Row 51:     Knit across row
Row 52:     Purl across row
Row 53:     Knit across row
Row 54:     Purl across row

Row 55:     K2tog, k2tog, k2tog, k1                                 (4sts)
Row 56:     P2tog, p2tog
Row 57:     K2tog                                                           (2sts)

Cut off yarn
Fasten off
Join seam
Darn away ends

Add a face – 2 buttons for eyes, and a button, bobble or pom-pom for a nose

Add pom-poms to the front of the hat and a jingle bell or two at the end


Fill with a Terry's Chocolate Orange for a cute little gift
