Wave of Light Baby Bonnet

A friend recently asked me to make a little bonnet for her soon to be born granddaughter !
She had discussed it with her daughter - and the brief was that the bonnet should be pretty and lacy - but with NO ruffles or frills.
She asked for ribbon ties - but more of that later !!

So, last night I knitted this for her - I hope she likes it.

Wave of Light Baby Bonnet

I persuaded my friend that ribbon ties might look pretty at first but that they wouldn't stay that way ....... and that a crochet chain was more practical and probably safer too.

I also had a little go at making this bonnet with a little chin strap ~

I personally think both options look sweet - hope you do too!
