Pattern:  

Using 4mm needles and colour A, cast on 55sts

1^st Row:           S1, * k1, p1, rep from * to last st, k1

2^nd Row:          S1, * p1, k1, rep from * to end

Repeat the last 2 rows 3 times more, increasing one stitch at each end of last row     (57sts)  

Do not cut off yarn A

Join in colour B

Using colour B ~

9^th Row:           Knit across row

10^th Row:         S1, purl to last st, k1

11^th Row:         Knit across row – knitting one stitch in colour A and one stitch in colour B all across the row

Using colour B ~

12^th Row:         S1, purl to last st, k1

13^th Row:         Knit across row

Cut off colour B, and continue in colour A only ~

14^th Row:         S1, purl to last st, k1

15^th Row:         Knit across row

16^th Row:         S1, purl to last st, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows five times more
