Harper Baby Blanket

I loved knitting this sweet little blanket. 

A simple 4 row pattern repeat, 

and both sides look good, which is great for a baby blanket!

Requirements ~

DK yarn, less than 100g of acrylic DK for the smallest size, and 350g - 400g for the biggest size 

4mm needles

Tension / Gauge ~

22sts = 4” (10cm)

Size ~

Width:

Cast on 90sts for a blanket around 16½“ wide    

Cast on 114sts for a blanket around 21“ wide    

Cast on 138sts for a blanket around 25“ wide

Cast on 162sts for a blanket around 29½“ wide

For other sizes ~ cast on 30sts + multiples of 12

Length:   Make your blanket square, or a little longer than it’s width.

Instructions ~

Cast on 90sts - or the number of stitches suggested above for the size you wish to make

Start with a garter stitch border - knit 6 rows

7^th Row:       S1, k6, *p4, k8, repeat from * to last 11sts, p4, k7

8^th Row:        S1, k4, p2, *k4, p8, repeat from * to last 11sts, k4, p2, k5

9^th Row:       S1, k12, *p4, k8, repeat from * to last 5sts, k5

10^th Row:      S1, * k4, p8, repeat from * to last 5st, k5

Repeat the last 4 rows until you are happy with the length of your blanket (as a guide - around the same length as the width of your blanket, or a little more)

Next Row:    S1, k6, *p4, k8, repeat from * to last 11sts, p4, k7

Next Row:     S1, k4, p2, *k4, p8, repeat from * to last 11sts, k4, p2, k5

Complete with a garter stitch border – knit 7 rows
