Instructions:

Using Navy yarn ~

Cast on 63sts

Row 1:             K2, *p1, k1, repeat from * to last st, k1
Row 2:             S1, *p1, k1 repeat from * to end

Using White ~

Row 3:             K2, yrn, k2tog, (makes a buttonhole), knit to end of row
Row 4:             S1, *p1, k1 repeat from * to end

Using Navy ~

Row 5:             Knit
Row 6:             S1, *p1, k1 repeat from * to end

Cut off Navy

Using White ~

Row 7:             K11, kfb, k1, kfb, k5, kfb, k1, kfb, k18, kfb, k1, kfb, k5, kfb, k1, kfb, k12

Row 8:             K4, purl to last 4sts, k4

Row 51:           K2, yrn, k2tog, (makes a buttonhole), knit to end of row

Row 53:          Knit

Row 54:          K4, purl to last 4sts, k4
Repeat the last 2 rows twice more

Join in Navy

Using Navy ~

Row 59:           Knit
Row 60:          S1, *p1, k1 repeat from * to end

Using White ~

Row 61:          K2, yrn, k2tog, (makes a buttonhole), knit to end of row
Row 62:           S1, *p1, k1 repeat from * to end

Using Navy ~

Row 63:           Knit
Row 64:          S1, *p1, k1 repeat from * to end

Cast off in rib

 

Sleeves ~ Both Alike

Put the 30sts, left on a stitch holder, back on to a knitting needle.  Rejoin yarn

With right side facing –

1st Row:           Kfb , knit to last st, kfb                                                   32sts

Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 7 rows

9th Row:           K2tog, knit to last 2sts, k2tog                                         30sts

Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 7 rows

Repeat the last 8 rows twice more                                                         26sts

 (You can adjust the sleeve length at this point)

Join in Navy

Using Navy ~

Row 33:           K2tog, knit to end                                                                    25sts
Row 34:          S1, *p1, k1 repeat from * to end

Using White ~

Row 35:          Knit
Row 36:           S1, *p1, k1 repeat from * to end

Using Navy ~

Row 37:           Knit
Row 38:          S1, *p1, k1 repeat from * to end

Cast off in rib

Make the second sleeve in the same way

Sew up sleeve seams. Gather together underarms
Darn away ends

Sew on 6 small buttons
