Requirements:
46g – 50g DK yarn
4 ½mm needles
4mm needles
3 small buttons
Measurements:
Width: 16” (41cm)
Length: 9” (23cm)
Sleeve length: 5” (13cm)
JACKET
Begin with the Sleeves (work 2)
Using 4mm needles ~
Cast on 25sts
Work 6 rows in garter stitch (knit every row)
Work 30 rows in stocking stitch, increasing 1stitch at each end of 3rd, 7thand 11th rows (31sts)
The sleeve should now measure about 5” – you can add more rows if required
Next Row: Cast off 3sts, work to last 3sts, cast off 3sts (25sts)
Leave these 25 stitches on a spare needle
Work the Main Part
Using 4 ½mm needles ~
Cast on 5sts and knit 1 row
Now work in pattern for the lacy edging ~
Row 1: S1, yo, k2tog, (yo, k1) twice
Row 2: S1, k6
Row 3: S1, yo, k2tog, k2, (yo, k1) twice
Row 4: Cast off 4, k4
These 4 rows form the pattern. Repeat 26 times more
Next Row: S1, yo, k2tog, (yo, k1) twice
Next Row: S1, k6
Next Row: S1, yo, k2tog, k2, (yo, k1) twice
Next Row: Cast off all stitches PURLWISE (1stitch left on needle)
Turn work and pick up and knit (along the flat edge) ~
(Tip: you should have 28 V-shaped peaks along the bottom edge)
*1stitch in first hole space, 1 stitch in next hole space, 1 stitch in the next row end stitch, repeat from * all along the edge to the end 85sts
For the main part ~
Change to 4mm needles ~
1st Row: (Wrong side) S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5
2nd Row: S1, knit to end
3rd Row: S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5
Repeat the last 2 rows 12 times more
Next Row S1, knit 18sts, cast off 6sts, knit 34sts, cast off 6sts, k18sts
Next Row: S1, k4, p14, purl across 25sts from the first sleeve, purl 35sts from the back, purl 25sts from the second sleeve, purl 14sts from left front, k5 (123sts)
Work the Yoke
