Millie Baby Hat

This is a lovely little lacy baby hat.

Easy to knit and looks so pretty.

Requirements:

DK yarn

4mm needles

 

Tension / Gauge:

22sts = 4” (10cm)

 

Medium Premature Baby Hat  –  9″ circumference, 4½“ high

Cast on 49sts             

Knit 4 rows

Row 5:   S1, knit to end

Row 6:   S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 7:   S1, p1 * yon, s1, k2tog, psso, yrn, p3, rep from * to last 5sts,  yon, s1, k2tog, psso, yrn, p1, k1

Row 8:   S1, k1, * p3, k3, repeat from * to last 5sts, p3, k2

Repeat the last 4 rows four times more

Row 25:   S1, knit to end

Row 26:   S1, purl to last st, k1                                 

 

Shape Top ~

Row 1:     *K4, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                      (41sts)

Rows 2, 4, 6 & 8:     S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 3:     *K3, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                      (33sts)

Row 5:     *K2, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                      (25sts)

Row 7:     *K1, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                      (17sts)

Row 9:     * K2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                           (9sts)

                            

Cut the yarn leaving a ‘tail’.

With a yarn needle, pull the yarn through all the remaining loops and secure

Sew up side seam and weave in ends.

 

Large Premature Baby Hat  –  10″ circumference, 4¾”  high

Cast on 55sts             

Knit 4 rows

Row 5:   S1, knit to end

Row 6:   S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 7:   S1, p1 * yon, s1, k2tog, psso, yrn, p3, rep from * to last 5sts,  yon, s1, k2tog, psso, yrn, p1, k1

Row 8:   S1, k1, * p3, k3, repeat from * to last 5sts, p3, k2

Repeat the last 4 rows four times more

Row 25:   S1, knit to end

Row 26:   S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 27:   S1, knit to end

Row 28:   S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 1:     *K4, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                      (46sts)

Rows 2, 4, 6 & 8:     S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 3:     *K3, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                      (37sts)

Row 5:     *K2, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                      (28sts)

Row 7:     *K1, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                      (19sts)

Row 9:     * K2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                           (10sts)

Row 10:   S1, purl to last st, k1

Cast on 61sts             

Knit 4 rows

Row 7:   S1, p1 * yon, s1, k2tog, psso, yrn, p3, rep from * to last 5sts,  yon, s1, k2tog, psso, yrn, p1, k1

Row 8:   S1, k1, * p3, k3, repeat from * to last 5sts, p3, k2

Repeat the last 4 rows five times more

Row 29:   S1, knit to end

Row 30:   S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 31:   S1, knit to end

Row 32:   S1, purl to last st, k1         

 

Shape Top ~

Rows 2, 4, 6 & 8:     S1, purl to last st, k1

Row 3:     *K3, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                      (41sts)

Row 7:     *K1, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1                      (21sts)
