3.25mm and 4mm needles

T2 = twist 2

k2tog, then before you drop the stitch off the needle, put the point of your needle between the 2sts and knit the first stitch again, before slipping both off together

2^ndRow:  S1, k1, * p2, k2, repeat from * to last 3sts, p2, k1

Repeat last 2 rows 4 times more

HAND

Change to 4mm needles

1^stRow:  S1, * T2, p2, repeat from * to last 4sts, T2, p1, k1

2^nd Row:  S1, k1, * p2, k2, repeat from * to last 3sts, p2, k1

3^rdRow:  S1,* k2, p2, repeat from * to last 4sts, k2, p1, k1

4^thRow:  S1, k1, * p2, k2, repeat from * to last 3sts, p2, k1

Repeat the last 4 rows 5 times more, or until work measures around 4½" from the cast on edge

Shape the top ~

Next Row:    S1, *k2tog, p2, repeat from * to end                              22sts

Next Row:    S1, k1, p1, * k2tog, p1, repeat from * to last st, k1        16sts

Next Row:    *K2tog all across row                                                  8sts

Cut the yarn leaving a ‘tail’.

With a yarn needle, pull the yarn through all the remaining stitches and secure

Sew up side seam and weave in ends
