This is such a pretty stitch - so I decided to use it for a little blanket too..........
If you would like to make this baby blanket smaller or bigger ~ Then reduce or add in multiples of four stitches

With a simple garter stitch border ................
I used King Cole 'With a Twist' Baby Big Value DK in shade 248 (lilac twist).
It is a much paler colour than it looks in the photos.
And it's lovely and soft - a pleasure to work with.

Cast on 132sts
Knit 10 rows
Work in pattern as follows ~
1st Row: S1, k4, * yon, k2tog, p2, rep from * to last 7sts, yon, k2tog, k5
2nd Row: S1, k4, * p2, k2, rep from * to last 7sts, p2, k5
3rd Row: S1, k4, * k2, p2, rep from * to last 7sts, k7
4th Row: S1, k4, * p2, k2, rep from * to last 7sts, p2, k5
5th Row: S1, k4, * k2tog, yrn, p2, rep from * to last 7sts, k2tog, yrn, k5
6th Row: S1, k4, * p2, k2, rep from * to last 7sts, p2, k5
7th Row: S1, k4, * k2, p2, rep from * to last 7sts, k7
8th Row: S1, k4, * p2, k2, rep from * to last 7sts, p2, k5
Repeat the last 8 rows until the blanket is almost the length desired
Next Row: S1, k4, * yon, k2tog, p2, rep from * to last 7sts, yon, k2tog, k5
Next Row: S1, k4, * p2, k2, rep from * to last 7sts, p2, k5
Knit 9 rows
Cast off knitwise
Darn away ends
